Entry Requirements
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport (according to the Nationality Law of The People's Republic of China), and the conditions set by the Document No. 12 (2020) of Ministry of Education of the PRC should be met; be in good health and get good grades.
2. Applicants must abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and local government as well as the regulations of SWUFE.
3. Applicants' education background should meet one of the conditions below:
(1) Nation-recognized undergraduates (applying for a master's degree) who will graduate in the current year must obtain a nation-recognized corresponding diploma before enrolling in the year of admission, otherwise, the admission qualification will be invalid.
(2) Applicants have had a nation-recognized bachelor's degree (applying for a master's degree).
(3) Applicants have had a Master's or doctoral degree.
4. Age Limit
(1) Applying for a master's degree: 18 to 40 years old.
5. Requirements of Language Proficiency
A. Applicants whose native language is English, or can provide proof of studying in a 2-year or above degree program in which the teaching language is English, do not need to provide a language certificate.
B. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide a score report of an English language test (IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 90 / Duolingo 120 / EF B2 and above) or pass the test organized by College of International Education, SWUFE.

My interest in studying in China has grown bigger and bigger in the recent years. With a wide range of universities offering English-taught courses in economics and finance, it became mandatory to do a rigorous research on those universities to choose the most adequate one.
The Southwestern University of Economics and Finance stood out amongst the other universities I have come across in my research. Being one of the top 3 finance and business oriented universities in China and the Chinese Ministry of Education's 100 key universities, SWUFE is sure to provide the quality education I'm looking for. This is evidenced by the impressive list of renowned alumni.
The approach SWUFE takes to my course is another motive that led me to apply for this university. I like the way the program is structured. As a person who doesn't hold a bachelor degree in Finance, I believe the way the program is laid out will greatly help me in undertaking the program and achieving the results I aspire to.
One more reason that raised my interest in SWUFE is the supportive environment it offers. Among the facilities available at the campus, the SWUFE's caught my attention the most as it's the biggest library in Southwest of China. Looking up the facilities provided on SWUFE website and reading the online reviews of the facilities by former and current students made me assured that SWUFE's campuses are well equipped to pave the way for students to academic excellence.

Applicants shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application. If applicants could not get the record from the authority, then shall sign and upload the Commitment Letter of Non-Criminal Record instead.

Your personal sponsor should be able to provide full financial support for your educational and living expenses for the entire length of study at SWUFE. Ask your personal sponsor to complete the appropriate sections of the form Guarantee of Financial Support, and provide a scanned copy of the passport or ID card of the sponsor.

Applicants shall submit a clear scanned copy of personal passport with validity later than March 1, 2027. If the validity of the current passport does not meet the requirement, please apply for a new passport before submitting the application. Applicants who cannot apply for passports before submitting their applications due to objective reasons, with the permission of SWUFE, may submit scanned copies of identity certificates or official documents containing the applicants’ “English name, gender, nationality, date of birth” and other information.

Academic Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.

Submit two recommendation letters signed by associate professors or professors or people with relevant academic titles in related academic fields.
*11. Physical Examination Form(only valid for 6 months)
The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
