Program Description
1. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: The aim of this major is to cultivate students with the basic application of Chinese Language.
In the regular Chinese program, winter semester usually starts at the beginning of September and ends at the beginning of January, while summer semester usually from early March to late June.
2. Courses Structure
Editor Notes: There are 16 teaching weeks in each semester, with 20+ class hours (Chinese classes plus selective courses) each week.
- Students will have Chinese classes in the morning from Monday to Friday, and the selective courses in the afternoon.
- Selective courses usually include China economy lectures and various cultural classes according to students' needs.
3. Textbooks
New Practical Chinese Reader , Chinese Tutorial and Developing Chinese (published by Beijing Language and Culture University) are mainly used as textbooks, together with supportive textbooks like General Information of China and Elementary Business Chinese Dialogue as well as the University's own teaching materials.
4. Fees
- Application Fee: RMB 400

6. The College of International Education
Editor Notes: The College of International Education of SWUFE was established in 2004.
- It is the combination of the former Foreign Students Education Center and the SWUFE Training Center for Personnel Working/Studying Abroad.
- There are above 20 full and part time professors and teachers, many of whom have experience teaching in foreign countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa.
- The highly-qualified faculty is among the top in western China.

Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered invalid. Applicants shall provide a physical examination form with a valid result within 6 months.

The passport shall be in the category of Personal Ordinary Passport. The period of validity shall be at least 6 months from the Registration Day.

Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit.
